A customer of the Florida fast food chicken restaurant, PDQ, has filed a class action lawsuit against the chain of 70 restaurants across 11 states on behalf of the customers affected by a data breach earlier this year. The hack was discovered on June 8th and occurred between May 19, 2017 and April 20, 2018. Customers’ names and credit card information, including expiration dates and security code numbers were compromised. The lawsuit alleges that PDQ did not do enough and could have prevented the hack. “While many retailers, restaurant chains, and other companies have responded to recent breaches by adopting technology that helps make transactions more secure, PDQ did not,” the complaint said. “We are aware of this and currently reviewing the claim. but will not comment any further as this is pending,” PDQ’s statement said.
