According to an annual report published by Germany’s BfV, the domestic intelligence service, expanding Iranian cyber capabilities pose a serious risk to German companies and research institutions. German intelligence observed campaigns that developed significant levels of effectiveness that posed a significant risk. While the report was geared towards protecting German interests, these risks are a threat to organizations around the world. With tensions increasing this week between Iran and the U.S., the potential for a cyber-attack from Iran being launched against western organizations and nations is increasing.
