Ubisoft is a French-based video game publisher and recently they have been hit by a DDoS (distributed denial of service) attack. The attacks started on Tuesday July 17th and affected the Ghost Recon Wildlands, For Honor, and Far Cry 5 servers. At 11:28 am on July 17th, Ubisoft customer support tweeted out, “we’re currently monitoring DDoS attacks impacting Ubisoft services and causing players to be unable to connect to games. The attacks are focused on our games connections and server latency, which we are working on mitigating. Thank you for your patience as we resolve this.” Players were concerned that personal data may have been exposed in the attack as well, however Ubisoft informed customers that there has been no indication that personal information was at risk.
