Dave DeSimone

Dave DeSimone is Chief Security Officer at Binary Defense, where he leads the organization’s IT Operations, Security, and Compliance functions. Since joining Binary Defense in 2015, Dave has led the company’s internal security strategy, operational resilience, and technology direction. Earlier in his tenure, he led several core operational teams, including the SOC, Engineering, Threat Hunting, Counterintelligence, and Automation teams, while partnering with Sales and Marketing on customer engagement, market positioning, and growth initiatives. He brings more than 20 years of experience in information security, including senior security leadership roles at large organizations.

Dave has contributed to the cybersecurity community through a range of advisory, industry, speaking, and community-focused roles. His past involvement includes supporting the development of cybersecurity education programs, speaking at security conferences including DEF CON, helping organize DerbyCon and BSides Cleveland, and participating in professional technology and security organizations.

Dave also serves as Co-Chairman of a nonprofit foundation focused on strengthening local schools by supporting grants, scholarships, and educational initiatives that expand learning opportunities for students, staff, and the broader community.
